Life Update the 3rd

 Hi Pixie Pals!

I haven't posted in about a month or so, so you know what that means - time for another life update!!

First things first, I'm nineteen now!

My birthday was actually a little over a week ago, and I went out on a little shopping spree with my mom! It was a lot of fun. Let me know in the comments if you want a birthday haul, Pixie Pals!

In other news, I was supposed to get my hair done yesterday, but I couldn't make it because I had work and couldn't request off in time. My mom had an appointment for the same day, so she talked to our stylist about it, and the next time she can fit me in is in May.

MAY.

That's, like, two months away! And my roots have already grown out enough!

Thankfully, she also said that if the salon has any cancellations before then, they can fit me in there, which I REALLY hope we're able to do; I don't want to deal with wigs, I'm not spending spring as a brunette, and I do NOT trust myself with those at-home bleaching kits.

Why must cute people suffer so much~?

Speaking of spring, the Spring 2026 Trend Report is in the works! Make sure you stick around for it!

That's all for today, see you later Pixie Pals~!

 Hi Pixie Pals!

Today I went to the nail salon for a fill (which, as you can tell, was VERY much needed.)

Here's the inspo pic I showed my nail tech:

And here are the final results!

Got my Hair Done!

 Hi Pixie Pals!

I got my hair done today!

Nothing too fancy, just a root touchup and a full highlight. I'm hoping to get some fun colors next time though, cuz it'll be close to my birthday! (I'm turning NINETEEN. YEARS. OLD!!!)

Anyways, here's what it looks like!

(Also unrelated but the weather's been so dry lately that its struck my lips with a chapped-ness that no amount of Burt's Bees can save me from TmT but fuck it we ball.)

That's all for today, see you later Pixie Pals~!

My 2026 New Year's Resolutions

Hi Pixie Pals!

Happy New Year~!

Now that the new year is here, some of you might be thinking up some new year's resolutions to pave your way towards becoming a better version of yourself in the new year, and while Google claims that only 6-10% of people actually keep their new year's resolutions, a lot of people like to use the "new year new me" attitude to get the ball rolling to try and improve themselves.

When it comes to new year's resolutions, I think that it's not what you want to improve or why, it's how.

What I mean by that is if you don't properly establish how you're going to accomplish your resolution, you might be setting yourself up for failure.

Think of it this way; What is your resolution? To start working out more. Why do you want to improve it? Because you want to have a way of relieving stress, strengthening your body, and overall living a healthier lifestyle. How are you going to do it? By going on a run every other day, joining a workout class, etc.

I've made a list of all of my new year's resolutions for 2026 as well as why I want to improve them and how. Let's get into it!

Spend Less Money

Ask anyone close to me and they'll tell you that I'm a bit of a shopaholic; but truly, that's kind of an understatement. I LOVE going shopping. Any time I go with my mom to the store or the mall or a shopping center, I always want to look around at all the different stores and see what there is I can buy.

But while buying new things is fun, it's pretty detrimental on my wallet, and full disclosure, I tend to spend money a little bit faster than I earn it, which makes it kind of hard to save up for things I really need.

There are things that I plan on doing to curb my spending habits; budgeting, waiting to buy something to see if I really need it, etc. But something else I'm trying out is something I'm calling "No-Buy Weeks".

A no-buy week is exactly what it sounds like; every month, I establish one week as a no-buy week, where I don't spend any money from Sunday to Saturday; no clothes, no makeup, no snacks, no nothing.

Be More Present on Socials

Now, I know that every time I post, I usually say something along the lines of 'I'm going to try to blog more often', but it really is true; I do want to start blogging more often.

But it's not just here; I want to be more active on other social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram too. I want to be more active not just to put myself out there and grow my "following", but also to connect with my Pixie Pals (that's all of you guys) better!

One way I'm trying to be more active on my socials is by setting specific days to post, e.g.,  posting a new TikTok every Friday, and working on social media posts a little bit every day.

Eat Better

This is one I'm sure a lot of people can relate to me on.

Eating well is a super important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Eating a steady diet of things like lean meats, leafy green veggies, and foods rich with complex carbs, unsaturated fats, and protein can help you feel more energized, achieve and maintain a healthy weight, and reduce your risk for all kinds of health conditions.

But it's not just what you eat that's important; it's also how much and how often. People say you should eat three full meals every single day, and it's generally understood that binge eating and starving yourself are both not very good habits.

I am on the autism spectrum, so trying new foods has always been a bit of a struggle for me. If you can relate to me on that, then one way you could try to expand your palette is to try your safe foods prepared in different ways; one of my safe foods is chicken, so I could try fried chicken or grilled chicken.

Be More Spiritual

I've been interested in witchy stuff since I was about twelve or thirteen; candles, crystals, tarot cards, that kind of thing. And I've always been fairly casual with my practice. I'll occasionally do a quick little tarot spread to see how my day is going to go or to answer a question, sometimes I'll carry around some crystals with me in my pocket or my bag, and once in a blue moon I'll even do a spell. I suppose I'd what you'd call a part-timer.

This year, though, I really want to start taking my practice more seriously. I love watching TikToks of more "dedicated" witches with their altars and their abundance of candles and crystals and cool witchy stuff, and I want to be like that too.

Take Better Care of my Space

Like eating well, this is also something I tend to struggle with due to my autism.

One symptom of autism spectrum disorder is something called executive dysfunction, which is when your brain struggles to regulate your thoughts, emotions, and actions, making it difficult to start tasks and get things done when you want or even need to get them done. Basically like artist's or writer's block but for doing literally anything ever.

Imagine needing to fold your clean laundry and you just lay there on the couch and think to yourself, "I need to go fold those clothes, I really need to fold those clothes, why am I not folding those clothes, just get up and fold! Those! CLOTHES!" for three or four hours before you actually muster up the energy to fold those clothes. That's basically what it's like.

There are ways to improve executive function, like using planners to keep track of tasks and breaking down seemingly big tasks into smaller, more manageable ones, as well as giving yourself a little treat in between tasks, like a snack or piece of candy, to give you a little boost of dopamine to keep you going and moving through what you need to do.

Take Better Care of Myself

Taking better care of myself is something I've been trying to be better about now that I'm getting "older", but sometimes I slip up; I forget to eat a meal, I skip a gym day or a shower, etc.

My current set-up is this; I go to the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I take a simple shower on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I take an everything shower on Sundays.

This resolution is less about creating a new routine and more about committing more to a routine I already have in place, because as mentioned, I do forget some days.

Make More Money

I'm starting to notice that a lot of my resolutions revolve around money... LOL

Making more money really is one of my biggest goals for this year, though. I really want to try and get my own place some time this year, and I need money in order to do that.

I already work one part-time job, but the pay isn't exactly enough to sustain myself off of. I want to both try work more shifts at my current job, but also try and get a second part-time job and make some money off of my social medias (including here!).

Another possible form of income is my art. I might want to improve my art a little before I start formally accepting commissions, but I do think that could be a really good opportunity for me to monetize my passion!

Try New Things

I once saw someone say 'You can't love yourself if you don't know yourself' and I whole-heartedly agree with that; if you don't take the time to figure out what makes you tick, what you like, what you don't like, what you believe in and stand for, then you can't truly love and appreciate yourself for who you are.

Growing up, I always tended to play it safe. I was introverted and didn't really talk to a lot of people, and I tended to stick to what I already knew and was comfortable with. But this year, I really wanna try and expand my comfort zone and open my mind to new experiences.

Read More Books

Reading has a multitude of benefits for both your mental and physical health. Studies show that reading books every day can enhance your vocabulary, help to manage stress, build your empathy, and even help you live longer. Plus, it's a great way to give your brain a break from screens!

Back in October, I purchased The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon at a local bookstore, which tells the story of Natasha and Daniel and how their different life situations inadvertently lead them to falling in love. I bought it back in October, but admittedly, I haven't really read that much of it since I tend to get distracted by other things, like my phone or things going on in my life.

I also want to try and read more kinds of books, like biographies, manga, comics, etc.

Feel free to share your new years resolutions in the comments!

Trend Report: Fall 2025

 Hi Pixie Pals!

August is here, Pixie Pals, but if you're like me, the autumn reset energy is already calling you home.

There are so many things to love about autumn; pumpkin spice, Halloween, hayrides, et cetera. But my favorite part of fall? Fall FASHION! Scarves and boots and sweaters, oh my!

But even though there are some classics every year that never seem to truly go away, every season puts its own swing on the classics to keep things fresh.

So let's get right to it!

Welcome to the Jungle

Animal print, furs, and animal inspired designs are a prominent motif amongst many fashion collections as autumn creeps ever closer. From fabulous furs to feathered fringe to animal prints of all kinds, it's evident that this autumn is about to get wild!

Taking a look at some looks from Prada's Fall/Winter 2025 Womenswear Show, we can take note of the prominence of fur jackets. Whether it's an accent framing the wearer's face or all-out fur-o-rama, Prada demonstrates this upcoming trend beautifully with it's careful and intentional use of color, texture, and silhouette.

This theme of fur-accented outerwear carries over to Prada's ready-to-wear collection, as well as a general theme of animal themes with a pair of ballet flats in numerous animal coat prints.

Continuing the trend of animal inspired designs is Ralph Lauren, with a graphic sweater depicting a bear in a stylish outfit; a bear-y adorable addition to your autumn wardrobe!

Lace for Impact

When you think of outfits that are worn in the fall, delicate lacy pieces might not be the first thing that pop into your mind. But fashion has a way of subverting expectations to help create some lace-a-licious styles.

Take, for instance, this pink cashmere polo shirt and matching skirt from Fendi, each with generous amounts of lace trim at the hem.

Also contributing to this trend of lace-accented pieces is Chanel, whose Fall/Winter 2025-26 ready-to-wear collection features a plethora of lacy garments. Ranging from a tasteful accent at the hem to garments constructed entirely of the delicate material, Chanel's use of limited color palettes and high-quality styling makes these pieces impossible to resist!

Slouch in the Pouch

Some might think that the secret to a good ensemble is to make everything as structured and clean-cut as possible. Makes sense, right? Well, Pixie Pal, this up-and-coming trend of slouchy, droopy bags might just leave you reconsidering that stance.

Take, for example, Prada's new "Protea" shoulder bag, in all it's slouch-tastic glory, coming in a chic black, welcoming brown, or all-eyes-on-me red!

Emulating a similar silhouette is Coach's new "Brooklyn" shoulder bag, in a boxier shape than Versace's Bratz-lips resembling Protea, coming in a much wider, albeit less striking, range of colors.

Ruffle and Tumble

Lace is a big trend this year in terms of fashion, but I think you'll find, Pixie Pals, that its cousin ruffles is also having its time in the sun this fall.

Just take a look at Ralph Lauren's Fall/Winter 2025 collection, with runway looks featuring ruffled blouses and jabot collars, giving founding-fathers chic in all the best ways.

Another contender for this trend is Chanel, numerous of whose looks from their Fall-Winter 2025/26 Collection sports garments with a splash of lace along the neckline, giving these ensembles a playful Victorian flair.

Warm Up, Tone Up

When we think of "fall colors", warm shades of red, orange, yellow, and brown tend to come to mind. And why wouldn't they? Those are the colors that the leaves change to every autumn season, so it's only natural that some might want to incorporate those tones into their wardrobes for fall.

However, one needn't restrict themselves to these earthy tones just to stay trendy. The stand-out color of this fall season? Two words: grape purple.

That's right, Pixie Pals, we're transitioning from butter yellow summer to grape purple fall, as shown by this sporty yet comfortable half-zip from Lululemon.

Another featured tone for fall is chocolate brown, which fits perfectly into the fall season, since it not only compliments the falling leaves of autumn, but also is just such a warm and inviting color overall. These traits are only amplified by Banana Republic, with a long sleeved sweater that provides protection from the crisp autumn breeze without being too heavy or restricting.

So, we've gone over some upcoming trends for fall. What should your main trend takeaways from this post? Let's Runway Recap!

Runway Recap

.+*Animal prints and furs are the cat's meow.*+.

.+*Lace and ruffles can take a basic outfit to a stunning ensemble.*+.

.+*The slouchier the bag, the better.*+.

.+*A splash of purple in amongst warm earthy autumn tones is a perfect way to freshen up your autumn ensembles.*+.

What's your favorite trend from this list? Is there another upcoming fall trend you're looking forward to that I didn't mention? Let me know with a comment!

Life Update the 3rd

Hi Pixie Pals! I haven't posted in about a month or so, so you know what that means - time for another life update!! First things first...
